Sikorsky S-16 - 1/72 Eastern Express
While working on planes again, I found that I started this one but never posted on it. So, here goes.
It's a Russian WWI Sikorsky S-16 that came out early in 1915.
And the next thing I recall, I was at this point...
The wheels provided are too small to alter for wire wheels, but luckily, they included skis that could double as floats.
Ahh, the fun of growing old!

For small scale, the engine looks pretty good. I read some on Russia in WWI and the "allies" involvement in the Russian revolution/civil war. It was a dangerous era, not least the airplanes! Good work!

Re: Sikorsky S-16 - 1/72 Eastern Express
Got some rigging done, although sloppier than desired. Also didn't appreciate that the boxart shows spoked wheels while inside they supply normal covered versions. So I had some leftover wheels that were a bit larger and fit some PE wires I had in stash. Tricky part was carving out the centers of the 4 wheels. There's not much there to get a grip on.

Finished!
Another fun little build.
I'd like to show you, but image hosting app here looks a little different now and doesn't seem to work. I'll try back tomorrow.
