| I have been getting the urge to build again, and of course nothing already started sounded good to me, sooooooo..... I dug up this ancient Lindberg 1/8 T-bucket. What you see is what I have collected. At one show I went to was this partly started kit that was missing a few pieces and the instructions. Couple years go by and I find this old built up that was falling apart and not only does it have the missing parts but came with the instruction sheet. So tonight I sat down and sorted out what I had. Its a basic kit that could be motorized, but will not be. The chrome is not the best with the passing of time, so I will see what can be cleaned up and what cannot be saved. I do not mind if there is little or no chrome on it. The tires, top and interior are actually made out of a rubber or vinyl that is soft and pliable. The tires are two piece with white wall inserts. As you can see in the pic, the white has dirtied with age. It will take some time to strip all the chrome, and clean and prep things as I go so I imagine updates will be sporadic. If anyone has built this in the past or has dealt with any soft rubber parts like these, what glue have you found that works well ? Any ideas about cleaning/brightening the white rubber parts ? My idea is to start with a tub of soapy water, then a little detergent like 409. I also plan on adding some(read minimal) detail wiring and plumbing, if any of you have found things that look right scale wise, please let me know. Any and all input will be appreciated. Oh, and if anyone has any large scale stuff laying around that you might want to trade off, PM me. Parts/partial/old built/kits,etc. 1/16,1/12,1/8 |

| Sam I built The "Big Red Rid" for Don Richardson. Same kit just Red instead of Blue. The vinyl tires and the white wall insert were a pain. I never did find an Adhesive that would work with them. I even tries MEK and 3 minute epoxy. I would glue them together and then while trying to sand the "Ridge" off the center of the tires they would come apart again. I finally got it done but it was a chore. Best of luck to ya. |

KP, the only thing I am a master at is procrastination when it comes to models. Thanks for all the ribbing and encouragement guys. It's very appreciated. |

| Very cool..! My brother owns a 1 to 1 scale car like that we built for him. I too have been wanting to build some large scale stuff...just to see what all I can do with them. I have the Lindberg Tall T kit but want to put a blower and injection scoop on it that looks the part before I start into it any. There is a few large scale ones Id like to find and afford sometime. |
