Re: Gilmore Shell
With glue setting, I thought I'd see how the planned light globes that line the underside of the over hang.
I use a lot of super glue that I get at the Dollar Store ($ 1.00 for a 2 pack)
Early on, I figured the tips of the caps might work on this project, so, I started saving them. I think it'll work. Â Needless to say, the plastic is not all that great !

Re: Gilmore Shell
Joining the walls. While the glue is setting, I took a closer look at those cast metal gas pumps. Those puking things are really well made !
Starting to think I might be better off scratch building some rather than fight trying to rework these. It was a bear just getting this one disassembled only this far ! I think I'd rather  deal with plastic!

Re: Gilmore Shell
Great project. Are you converting it to a clock face pump?

Yes, this one I will. The other Spencer pump is square and I plan to scratch that one. The tall one in the center, maybe try to just mod the graphics.
I went thru two Dremel cutoff wheels to get this far ! As one of the young guys I used work with, coined, "it ain't easy being Geezy "

Re: Gilmore Shell
Building looks great with the roof on.
Is that car a 1/32 scale? Looks a bit small.

Thanks,
Yes, the car looks small in the photo ! Hmmmm, that's a heavily modified 40 Ford coupe. 'Twas a salvage yard body,1/24 or 1/25 scale.

Re: Gilmore Shell
I got an order of small Scallop shells from Amazon and will see if I can get something better than the lame Bondo one for the pump globes. Only problem is. that the natural shells are not quite symmetrically round. I'll have to tweak them a bit.
I'm also reworking that small glass thingie that the hose comes out of. Even with my bad eyesight that was too lame to let slide by !
