Starting to work on the graphics for the facade. Was brought up short by noticing on some different reference photos that there is white trim at the top of the upper columns !

Minor delay while I deal with those !

Wonderful progress! The trim thing sounds like a hassle but I'm sure you'll work it out

I have added the white trim to the tops of the columns. Now to get serious with the fascia portions.

Not a very big update, but showing how the facade will be looking.

A trip to a 3rd eye Dr, a retina specialist, concludes that I have a blood vessel issue directly behind my right retina, causing macular degeneration. So, I am reduced to working with my left eye that normally is farsighted.
I will be plodding on with the Shell station, but , my workmanship is leaving me with a lot to be desired !
Cheers,
Geezer

This is coming along nicely Clay, sorry to hear about the sight issues. I recently had an exam, Dr, says 'did you know you have a piece of metal in your right eye'. For the past yr I have woken up with pain in that eye, turned out to be a teeny tiny piece of aluminum embedded in the iris.
Good luck with the eyes Clay. Looking forward to seeing this dio in some photos.

I need to be more observant !! What I thought was white trim all across the tops of the facades, wasn't white at all. Must have just glanced at a photo that had  reflections on the top edges. Also a new look let me know that there was a thicker edge lining the top. So, I'm in the process of correcting my previous assumption by attaching a 3/16" lip to the pieces. The entire top edges are chocolate brown, like the base of the columns !

Nothing new and exciting. I do have the facade pieces in paint. just have to clean up and put on a final coat. Starting on some auxiliary companion pieces.  Some of the reference photos show a pair of benches on each side of the front door. Depending on the outcome, I may just make one.

Excellent progress! And though it may not seem 'new and exciting' every little bit of work adds up to what is going to be a superb diorama.

Some small progress to report. I made 3 cast iron (matt board and wire) seat brackets. They left me with a desire not to do it again, so, there will be only one bench ! ( second foto), there will be no closeup shots....It's that bad !
