A fortnight ago at Morgan Pk, Queensland, its about 2 hours away from home ( 3 in a camry. LOL) Cabin & delicious Indian food Saturday night.
Alcohol was not involved (well- a bit-some- too much)

Anyway here's some of the cars there. See how many you can recognise. Al, some are British, so no helping the Americans!

Hey that little Truck is sweet. Just right for a Hemi and some fat tires. What is it?
Thanks for posting these Chris.

First one looks like a Ford of some sort. The second is a Cooper Truck. Either a Morris or a Austin. Can't tell unless I see the front end. Buck the engine would have to sit in the back and even then it would take up the entire bed. LoL

An XP Falcon. We didn't use model years here, the Falcon started as the XK model in 1960, and the current one is the
BG. Might be the last one, as they arn't selling well, and unlike Holden, ford has very little export sales from Aus.

Historic Racing from Morgan Pk. Aa10

This one's a Holden Torana LJ. A d-i-s-t-a-n-t relation of the Vauxhall Viva. This is a "Sports Sedan" race car, where
pretty much anything goes.

Cars like a Honda Civic powered by a 350 Chev with a rear transaxle. Why, because we can.
Virtually every championship winning car over the last 2 decades has been Chev powered.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Sports_Sedan_Championship gives you an insight.

I won't tell you what this one is. Except it was a best seller in the 1963-65 time frame.
This is "slightly modified" however..........

And lastly, since I'm on a photo roll. Why its working now and not before is a mystery.

My pic of the cars there. Wasn't the quickest car there- there were some dedicated single seat race cars, but I could find happiness with this '65.

I always enjoy the pictures you post. That Falcon is not all that bad. the side trim reminds me of a Fairlane.

Ford Australia did use some Fairlane bits on the Falcon- and vice versa. The original 1960 XK Falcon had a front suspension that suffered on our rubbish roads,
so the adapted heavier duty parts from the Fairlane.

They did a lot of that, Ford never had the commitment to local design that Holden did at the time.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying 'em. There's a few Historic race meets coming up- if I can get a leave pass from Mrs Webby.
Or bribe here with something..........

Cheers,

Chris
