Especially as it's just the top of an engine.

What did you use to paint the carb intakes Dave, Molotov?

They were already chrome. I just painted the bottom gold and dropped some black ink into the stack tops.

my SV has a louvered rear window, does the Jota version have a clear rear window?

Crisp detailing, as usual, and great job on the springs :).

Louvered. So that's what you call them. I just called them "Those black fin things". It's the same as the SV Shay but I'll wangle it so it can be removed though now you've got me thinking what it would look like with a window instead. *strokes chin*

Well, from what I remember from the SV is that the black louvered thingy could be made removable with a bit of effort, and it would still be correct rather than a glass rear window.

I never bothered with the engine detail, but it would be a pity not to see that engine.

Stop stroking your chin now! lol

Hello everyone. A bit more progress.
Undercoating the window borders.

Installed the glass after painting the borders properly.

Installed the headlights.

Installed various air intakes.

Lots of other little details to go before the trauma of stretching the body over the interior.

This build is really turning out well.
I think the kit could have been designed better in so many ways, but your usual crisp detail work and care are producing a lovely result.
Body finish is excellent. You certainly polished the hell out of that one!
Love the dashboard and console.
Headlights are great.
Suspension is outstanding.
Love the engine detail, but wish for a kit with a full Lamborghini engine
Thanks for posting all these build photos, as there is so much more to see than you can once it's all buttoned up.
It's going to be a thing of beauty when it's complete.
I have found that a couple of "mock" credit cards makes the body /chassis mating process painless.
Every time "Capital One" try to loan me money, I bin the paperwork and keep the plastic.
They are much thinner than real credit cards and very smooth and slippy, with rounded corners.
I just pop the body shell upside down on a soft pillow, lay the chassis gently on top in position ready, and then slip a card in each side vertically.
The chassis slips down gently into the body and the cards do all the spreading required.
I pull them gently out when everything is in place.
There must be a way of hinging those louvres with brass wire, tube, and epoxy without fouling the rear window?

Thanks all. I will certainly give that credit card trick a go as this kit is even worse than the Miura SV. There must be an inch and a half on each side to pull over. The louvred window will just sit on top loose and can be removed. I still have to decide whether to put the spoiler in it's proper place on the roof, move it to the back or leave it off all together.

Any tips on getting a clean painting line in the headlight buckets Dave? I have something similar, but much more round on the Martini 935, I can't see an obvious way to mask and paint apart from masking the paint on the outside and and spraying from the inside of the shell or using a black marker freehand.

That Jota is looking fabulous.

I can only suggest that you paint it freehand with a small brush. I use Revell Aqua paint but make sure the brush is nicely damp when applying and apply around three coats as the paint is really thin by then. The rest is down to a steady hand and a sharp eye.

Hello all. More progress.
I've added a few extras to the engine bay from metal.

And slipped the bodywork on with little fuss using a couple of slippy credit cards (thanks Researcher).

I'm lost for words on this build. And thanks, Researcher for the credit card tip. Sounds very promising.

Super clean. I have the Hasegawa Miura and I hope to get it built half as clean as your built yours.
