PostSubject: Fujimi Garage & Tool Series Remix   Fri 25 Aug 2017, 5:54 pm

I have started building the tool box and tools for the enclosed trailer for my dream racing rig.

I am installing lights in the trailer and the tool box is going to hold the 9v battery. It will power the lights and a small electric motor that I am going to fashion into a 1/24 generator.

My PE piano hinges came in the mail yesterday.

I re-did one of the plugs on the side of the box since these pictures were taken.

Thanks guys, I tried my had at some PE piano hinges but they are very difficult for me to assemble and after a few time of working the hinge after installing it, it fell apart. I went to Hobby Lobby over my lunch break and got some doll house door hinges and I am going to use those on the top cover.

The switch is in the top box under the cover. I am going to make it look like there are rows of sockets for ratchet handles in the top just like my real tool box.

I got my battery clip/connector Saturday and I finished the wiring. I redid the lights to parallel so they would be brighter. Even with a fresh 9 volt they were to dim wired in series.

I am going to get the hinges on soon so I can start painting the box and put the wheels and handle on.

Here are some pics

Thanks guys,

I have the basic red on the tool box and hope to get it detailed and assembled this week.

Sorry these pictures are a little blurry.

Still working on this when I have time. I also found a PE ratchet strap kit and I am adding a set to my open trailer with the Comet on it...

Thanks guys, I made some sockets out of bits of nibs from the parts trees and use Molotow to chrome them. I made a 1/4 drive ratchet and socket case (like the one I have) and put those under the top lid. My whole top box (my real one) is completely full of sockets. I don't know if I am going to put more in. If I do I will paint them gun metal to look like impact sockets.

I need to clean up the chrome on the drawer handles but it's coming along.

A nice touch with the sockets, Mitch.

The additional detailing to the details is stunning. I would say go for the impact sockets, but I'm kind of tweaked that way, lol.
