1995 Toyota Celica SSIII (J)
Hello fellow modellers. It's finally time to get on with the tribute to my own car. I'll be using two Tamiya kits to try and get the look right.
I'll need to prepare the way for the minor bodykit which will be scratch build. I've never tried this before so I experimented with modelling clay, putty and styrene.
Styrene, CA gel and perfect putty seems to be the forward.
It's not an exact match but It's certainly close.

These are always special builds because the subject is very well known to the builder.
You should post some photos of the real one too for our comparison.

I am sure you will be able to model the body kit pretty well. Finding those wheels might be tough though.

Wow, the subtleties in the curves are intimidating. Great work with the front end, from where I sit it looks identical already.

I've always liked that Celica body style. I never cared for the boxy body style that came out in the early 2000's

Re: 1995 Toyota Celica SSIII (J)
Hi all, I spent a while colour sanding the bodywork after a bad bout of clear coating. I used micromesh from 3200 all the way to 12000.
The kit provided a poor excuse for a belt and alternator so I will make my own and use a better alternator. It's also missing some parts.
I scratch built the air compressor and the power steering pump then re belted with masking tape.

That's looking great, I guess there's no lack of reference photos for this one.
Looking forward to seeing more updates.
