While reading the label on the superglue kicker I notice that it contained alcohol and thought.......
So tried some ca on a scrap bit of plastic and squirted some alcolhol on it and.......................................................................................................................................................................The ca set instantly!

Might be old news but it is handy to know.

certainly does

The alcohols only there for (in loose terms) a carrier so there's less percentage of H2o applied and the alcohol flashes off, too much "water" and it'll flood the composition and stop the CA going off, or just clump up depending on the type (maunufacturer) of CA used

It sticks skin so well because there's only a little amount of perspiration on the surface and so aids the adhesive nature of the chemical reaction

If you breath on the two items to be stuck it'll work just as well ... the clues in the "acrylate" part, if it were the alcohol that set it off then the glue would have "hydro or oxyl" or similar in the formula name.

Good Stuff, thanks for the heads up. I have always been curious about CA Flashers. Now I can try it.

I noticed when using CA glue, water does speed up drying time. It did also turn the dried glue white. It's not a problem most of the time, but when a builder wants glue to dry clear, it can be a problem.
