Dick Dastardly.....
For a number of years before escale closed, during the month of December, I ran what I called the 'The Dick Dastardly Challenge', a little competition based on the cartoon series 'Wacky Races'
For those of you not old enough to remember this cartoon series, check out this link:
http://www.dan-dare.org/Dan%20FRD/WackyRacesCarsAndDrivers.htm
The idea is to let your inner child out and build your own Wacky Racer.
The rules are simple.
1. No new kits are allowed. Only failed kits and parts box parts are allowed.
2. No after market parts are allowed.
3.Let your imagination run wild.
4.Weaponry is desirable but not essential.
5. Have fun.
6. Your Wacky Racer must bear a race number.
The competition will run from December 1st to 31st inclusive. Judging (by voting) will take place early January.
Judging will be based on how 'Wacky you racer is and not on build or paint quality.
So let me know if you think this is a flyer. If there is enough interest, I'll set it going Dec. 1st
In the meantime, here are some of my past entries to give you some ideas:

Re: Dick Dastardly.....
I built this about 8 years ago...
Something a little different now, elsewhere I took part in a Dick Dastardly challenge. The main components are a '67 Ford Mustang,P.B.Y.5A Catalina and a Walker Bulldog tank.Chuck in some plastic card,a few different colours and you get this... :D :D :D

Re: Dick Dastardly.....
OK..... counting me that makes seven and it's a goer.
I'll post up a reminder at the beginning of November. In the meantime, get searching the parts box and thinking of ideas!!

Re: Dick Dastardly.....
I would like to 'tentatively' throw my hat into the ring for this - I remember the Dick Dastardly Challenge from eScale and loving it and wanting to take part but not being able to 'justify' not working on the main project - but after this much time I figure giving myself a December to just mess around and have fun will be good therapy. I have enough stuff that qualifies and keeping it OO scrap B will help (honestly, I'm finding all the scratch building I've been doing to be somewhat exhausting).
One question; is adding stuff from toys and not necessarily scale models allowed? Or is that kind of stuff considered the same as aftermarket add ons?

Re: Dick Dastardly.....
That's OK with me Kats as long as it is in the spirit of 'having to hand', and not bough it specially.

That's always good fun although I didn't participate as much as I would have liked.
I wonder where my pics of Jacques went.

Re: Dick Dastardly.....
It is with great sadness that I must decline this round ... I went hunting for some of the boxed stash I thought I had and can't find it, lol. I thought for sure I had an old 1/24 AC Cobra and a Gundam robot that were parts-bound but all attempts to locate them has met with failure.
