PostSubject: Billetproof 2016   Mon 27 Jun 2016, 9:50 pm

Saturday June 25th, Bob and I went to the Billetproof Car Show in Centrailia, Washington. Good Show. about 400 1:1 cars, Tons of venders with old parts and magazines, Live Music all day and a model contest. The Model Contest is open to all and free to enter so I took some Models from my Museum to enter. I took the little 34 Ford Rat Rod Pickup the Al built and two the Clay built, the Hellrod and Son Of A Beach. Plus I entered 5 of my builds. Even though Billetproof Shows have been around for 20 years this was the 7th year for this show. The Model Car Contest has been part of it for 6 of those 7 years. I do have a reason for telling you that and will share it shortly. You know how old men are they like to drag the story out. Anyway, there were about 175 models entered in the show. You never know what class your models will be in at this show. They wait until all the entries are in then break them down into classes depending on what was entered. There is no Second and Third places awards only the winners score.

When the smoke had cleared my 1950 Oldsmobile won a plaque in "Factory Stock" class.

Clay won "Racing" with the Hellrod. The reason it was in the racing class was because it has no radiator and was deemed a Drag Race car not a Street Rod.

And now to the BIGGIE. Clay's Son Of A Beach won the Billetproof Pick Award. In the six years of this show My Showboat has won the Billetproof Pick Twice and Now Son Of A Beach as won it twice. That is a good representation of this forum, I think. I am going to enter Son Of A Beach again  next year just to see how it does. My Showboat is retired and in the International Model Car Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah so it can't be entered again. So my point is 4 out of 6 years a member of this forum as captured the award.

Congratulations to Clay. By the By Clay had no idea I was taking these models top the Show. I will mail him the awards he won.

About 120 pictures just so you will know.

Oh by the way Bob won in the Rat Rod Open Class. Sorry no picture.

Good entries make for a healthy hobby. Inspiration feeds creativity in others. Awards for members of our "club" are appreciated by all!

If they had looked inside, they'd have seen the radiator in back, in front of the gas tank

Are you suggesting that beauty is only skin deep Clay?
