Nissan R390 GT1 in 1/43rd scale
Well, I never did one of these kits before. I never did anything as small as 1/43rd or worked in resin either. But I got about 5 different kits like this for free last year from my club's spring cleaning swap meet.
Due to the kit's age the decals tend to fall apart. Not all, just a few. But I made a scan and printouts before starting the kit. The instructions are just photos of the model at all sides and top and letters showing where some parts got to such as the PE parts.
It has decals for the screens in the back. Fortunately after I put them on I found I had some mesh to cut out to put on top. They had tail lights on the decals too. So I put strips of "chrome" Mylar in their place and painted translucent red Tamiya paint on them. And the round taillights were molded in the resin. I sanded them plat and used the same paint on them, It's thick and you can build it up too.
Also for painting the body there were two large sized silver decals to cover the nose and the rear deck. Well with the contours and fragility of the decals I skipped them. Besides the rear and sides had to be painted sliver anyway. So after I painted it green I just masked it and sprayed Testors alum. metalizer. That paint wears off when handling but you can touch it up with a brush and you can't eve tell.
Plus I used the "chrome" Mylar for the mirrors. I added an antenna wire too. So these photos on you monitor are larger than the actual size of the model unless you looking at them on a smartphone.
So here it is. Thanks for looking:

I like that Mike. Nice job and in such a small scale too.

Most excellent! First 1/43 scale model and so well done? WOW! I used to have less respect for these tiny models, but seeing possibilities for them and rarity of many of vehicles makes building a few a good alternative and change of pace from regular 1/25 models. Thanx!
