Re: Academy 1/24 Lambo Countach 500
Fresh out of the lace treatment stage.
I still need to develop a better method of laying the lace. I have tried not to lay the glue on too thick so as not to block the lace mess. I may switch to Elmers spray glue as it is a finer mist.
The colour didn't turn out even close to what I thought it would. I sprayed the new Vallejo metal Chrome first followed by Model Master Turn signal Amber. I am still happy with the results though, the gold should look pretty rich once cleared.
Now I just have to figure out how to finish the shading and where to put down the black.

Nice one Curt..... I like it.
Have you thought about using hair lacquer as and adhesive? That's what I used to use on Lexan slot car bodies.

Thanks Al.
I haven't, it does have a very fine mist, good suggestion thanks.
Next time I will be using it forsure. I think I am going to be on a run of laced paint jobs for the foreseeable future.

That looks even better now it has a shine to it ....
Most impressed.
PS cheap hairspray works better than the expensive stuff, there's less perfume and faffy stuff in it ... Just basically cheap clear acrylic laquer

Cheap hair spray sounds a good idea. I think on You Tube I've seen light coat of spray adhesive (allowed to dry to light tacky stage before sticking down) used for lace or open cloth to simulate carbon fiber when spraying contrasting color over base color.
Lambo would've looked good with jungle print colors too. Thanx.

Re: Academy 1/24 Lambo Countach 500
After a wet sand with 1500 grit I decided to lay down some Spaz Stix Holographic paint. It will be cleared again, which should make it pop even more. I need to modify my spray booth, I still get partials in the paint. I think I am getting blow back some how, which is why you see I don't have filters. No matter what I have done to avoid/control them they find their way onto the paint. Anyway.
Thanks for following along and looking in.

Thanks Colin.
It's always a good when something makes you smile. Hopefully you'll still be smilling when it's done.

I can't take credit for the creativeness, I just copied what real auto guys do. I do appreciate the kind words though.
