First one done?

•Heller kit pretty much OOB
•Duplicolor paint
•Parts box decals
•Wired the engine
•Used "extra" kit parts on the engine

•Major flaw with the kit is the bulkhead lacks about 3/16" from touching the body top. I didn't realize this until I had put too much of the kit together and didn't want to take it back apart to fix it.
•The rear body piece doesn't fit without a lot of work.
•The engine is far from accurate for any of the Porsche 907 908 series. Heller left it that way to use in other kits is what I suspect.

•Major win with the kit is the fit of all the clear parts. Outstanding fit.
•The wheels and tires.
•No mold lines on the body and just few pin marks.

Excellent looking!  Engine (flat 8) looks okay and yellow tinted rear window was sort of "standard color"  back then.  Most appreciated by this endure fan from way back when!

I tried to do some research but didn't find anything on the yellow tinted window. I wondered if they tinted it on purpose or the fumes from the engine and fuel made the plexiglass turn yellow. Any ideas?

IIRC and to the best of my knowledge, yellow rear windows were put in place to reduce the glare from the headlights of cars behind during the night sessions of 24 hour races Mitch.

Whoops!! I missed the Tommy Ivo car Mitch.

I think you did a grand job on this pair Mitch and I'd happily have them in my display cabinets!!!

Thanks guys, neither one is my best work but I started them a long time ago and getting them done was more important than striving for perfection... lol.

They look good on the shelf, I probably won't bring these two to the model show this year.

The completed MPC 1963 Lotus Indy car of Jim Clark.  Built OOTB except for the decals which are IndyCals.

Yes, those tires sure are big.

Thanks everyone for another great CB.

I'm playing catch up with stuff at the mo ... thought i'd have a look-see in this finished thread and WOW ... what quality so far !!!

It'd be a hard press to pick one if it were a competition.
