A selection of '32 Ford hot rods
Hi Guys,
As a way of introducing myself to you I have started three threads showing some of my cars. This one features a few '32 Fords I have built - I am planning to work my way through the different body types, each with a different engine, build style and colour.
Roadster
Cabriolet
Dan Finks Speedwagon
Pro-street Pickup
Hope you like them! If you have any questions about any of them just let me know.
Cheers,
Jim

Super nice. A true classic and you have rendered them to Hot Rod perfection. I's drive any of them.

Awesome selection. I can hardly wait to see your take on a "tub".

I'm partial to the red one, a real beauty. Really they're all very well done, sanitary work on classic '30s Fords!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the comments - it is amazing the number of different takes there are out there on the '32 Ford!

Great models Jim, all of them. I especially love the pro-street pickup. What a nice rake to the car, and it looks like it is going fast while just sitting still!!

Hi,
The rake on the pro-street pickup was achieved by scratch-built rails incorporating the suspension and wheels from the Revell Willys kit. Frequent mock-ups ensured the correct stance was achieved. Here's a wip picture of the underneath before the wheelie bar was attached - something worth looking at as the majority of the work took place there!
Cheers, Jim

Very nice work, Jim. Love the woody. Did you do the chop on that?

Re: A selection of '32 Ford hot rods
Hi,
I didn't do the chop on the woody - that is how it came in the kit. The model has been detailed but not altered in any way as it is a good representation of the phantom woody that Thom Taylor did a drawing of and Dan Finks Metalworks built. The actual car is metal with the wood on top and is in the significant 75 1932 Ford hot rods in the book '32 Ford Deuce by Tony Thacker.
The model has been recently reissued for those interested in building one (the blue is Ford Blue - a difficult colour to pin down as it varies, I used Royal Blue that worked well (a Ford Fiesta shade, 1976, 937A)).
Cheers, Jim
