Re: Revell Thermopylae
Imagine all the ropes on the original ships of the era! Your skill and time put in makes this a superior model. No wonder it takes time!

Nice! The figures really help with the perspective, like how tall the masts really are, lol.

I agree with Kats, imagine climbing those in bad weather.

I third the opinions - the figures add life to the model. Did they come with that kit?

Re: Revell Thermopylae
Yes I certainly wouldn't want to climb them even in calm conditions. They must have had nerves of steel and grips of iron.

Re: Revell Thermopylae
Well I'm livid I was hoping to finish this tonight (so close and now so far) I picked it up to turn it round to do the rigging on the left side of the second mizzen sail and it slipped from my fingers, if I'd let it fall it would probably landed on the floor on it's stand with no damage instead clumsy me tried to save it I broke the bowsprit (again) it took Supreme control not to hurl it at the wall I've managed to create a heath Robinson collection of weights and threads to pull it all together and get all the rigging true (the dolphin striker will be a bit twisted though) I'm hoping when all set it will still all be true and I won't have to strip all the rigging off and start again. I really am cross, I mean really cross, I came so close to finishing her grrr.

Re: Revell Thermopylae
Sorry to hear about the 'issue.' Something similar happened to me near the end of my tall ship rigging and I snapped off the bowsprit - I can just imagine how much self control you mustered to not send the ship into orbit. Just step back and take deep breaths and know that your efforts are going to result in a superlative build.
