You think we should run the GB's in separate threads like the other site Paul?

actually no, cos ive always liked them where its all in one thread, more of a feeling of 'community' i think...and it makes someone viewing look at everything being done not just cherrypicking at threads lol....just can get a little confusing at times lol

I also like it the way it is, for the same "community" reason as Paul.

Allbeit the human aspect of missing things or not reading all the way through, sometimes thats to do with the end of a page and the person comments on the last item of a page missing the next entry on the following page ... done it myself a few times
Or clicking the "read last post" and missing the previous persons post .... ahem... Alan LOL.

Other than that .... if it aint broke !!!

Looks good Steve!

Paul - Yes, you are right, I had forgotten how different ESCI plastic is to other makers. The thin parts like struts and rifles can break easily. I will have to be careful.

Here's some individual pics to show where progress stopped 10 years ago.

This represents 3 hours work on the Ambulance last night.

I really like the look of this.

Currently digging through the paint stash to see what I need to buy.

Some progress pics. I had forgotten how difficult it can be sometimes to work with ESCI kits. The instruction sheet can be hard to follow when the parts don't fit. The plastic is hard and sometimes doesn't grip on first attempt. Attaching the winch to the front was a PIA, the box art gave the best clue as to where to put it. The winch assembly also made it difficult to lower the cabin onto the chassis the radiator got in the way......grrrrr. Once I got it all together I dry fitted the tyres (see photo) and discovered that the wheel arches looked too high above the axles......grrrrrr. Did some surgery on the radiator and then clamped it. Can't wait to get back to the dockyard.

Yup..... some kits are just plain tough.

Now I know of a number of ways of lowering suspension but never seen a car lowered with G clamps!!!

One of the things about builds by experts here is how you each can adapt flawed kits and poor instruction sheets into realistic finished models.  I feel bad for younger, less experienced builders who lose hope and give up modeling.  Manufacturers should act most responsibly to buyers and toward more success in sales for themselves.  Thanx to you guys for sharing tips and techniques on challenging kits!
