Went to the Billetproof Rod Run 2015 at the fairgrounds in Centrailia, Washington. Seemed to be fewer cars this year but, the heat was 97 degrees and boiling. last year I took 702 pictures this year 460 so it was a lighter turn out. Those numbers show the Full scale and In scale photos together. This post contains the Full Scale pics only. The models are in the In Scale section. What I really saw was a big down turn in the number of Rat Rod entries. I know that the Fads come and go and it bounces around from Genre to Genre in the car hobby (same is true for models) so they will never go away completely. I see the Retro Rod really making a strong move right now. Lot's of those newer computer controlled power trains become available all the time.

here is the slideshow link:

here is the link to the normal album.

Johnag I am just not sure what that car is. Sorry about that, the old memory bank went empty on that one. Part of me says 40 Chevrolet and then part of me says no way.

Rust and Ratrods have always been the staple at Billetproof runs. I was kinda glad to see it going away. LOL

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Andy, I think its a 1941 Dodge sedan. The closest thing you can do with a model is the 1941 Plymouth coupe kit from AMT, and then get a resin sedan body. Somebody used to sell a lot of different resin bodies for that kit on the US Ebay. Then, you would have to modify the Plymouth grille to look like the Dodge. Hope that helps.

Hi Sam,

Many thanks for that Sir, I shall start keeping my eyes open...

Hi Mr Z,

Many thanks again for sharing these with us Sir, I just wish car makers would go back to building beautiful cars like these and not jelly moulds...

The other vehicle that peeked my interest was thing little creation, do you know if it had air suspension or was it really that low driving along...: -

There were no air bags on this car. it is just that low to the ground. I saw him drive it into the Fairgrounds and watched him leave in it. I think the grass makes it look lower than it is.

Hi Mr Z,

Is the chassis an old Willys Jeep, it really does look like and interesting ride, although not really built for comfort...

Andy, I am not sure what chassis they used. The body is Jeep but not sure about the chassis. Next time I see the car I will try to get some details for ya.

I'm guessing Olds Toronado or Cadilliac Eldorado for the engine & gearbox. I can't see any driveshaft hump on the Jeep body.
