1935 Mercedes-Benz 500K
I'm calling this one finished but the end result was a tad disappointing. Primarily because of the poor chrome.
The chrome itself was OK but the mold lines on most parts were unacceptable, which meant stripping and re-doing with Alclad. However Alclad is soft and doesn't stand up to a lot of handling and the radiator was in and out like a yo-yo goes up and down.
Onwards and upwards!! LOL

Unless one opts for a monster scale (and price) one from Pocher, this is as good as it gets. It would be the best of both worlds if builders could use the Alclad on just the sanded off bold lines and imperfections. To me this kit and your beautiful attn. to detail makes it way above 95% of ones I've seen built. Big time thanx for sharing the experience with us!

Great job, Al. Beautiful fit of all the body parts. The paint work is absolutely stunning. Fantastic work on an old kit.

What a beauty, just superb. Al did you know that Alcad makes a clear sealer for their chrome that prevents it coming off while handing the painted parts? Works and looks good. I saw it a seminar that Dave Fletcher gave a couple years ago.

Thanks everyone. You lot keep and old geezer going.
Yes I did know Buck and I have some somewhere. However, when I tried it, it just turned the chrome to silver. Perhaps I did something wrong.

That is a common complaint re the clear Al, which is why I've not used any of what I bought. I don't know of or seen an answer.

That is lovely AL, colour is spot on for me. The attention to detail on these car models is staggering.
