Submarines Empty Submarines

Post by coyote Wed 17 Jun 2015, 8:24 am

There was a line in an old scout song, 'The Quartermaster's Store' which said 'beans, beans as big as submarines in the Quartermasters store'. Well here we have submarines as big as beans - 1/700 scale ones. I was tied down in May repainting an old model, it took too long and I wanted to cut loose with something quick and fast, and subs are very fast to do. Each one is one sprue with about a dozen parts, with some you get 2 subs in a box. I didn't take any progress shots, not much to see, here they are, thanks for looking-

Nice one Chris. Most of them must be 150mm or less?

I used to chuckle at the "standard of measurement" paint jar in fotos, but it does help in gauging size!  These subs look small enuf to easily lose.  Pretty cool looking, they'd make a great in water group diorama.

Great collection, Chris.

Is the WWII sub in the background the same scale as the one in the foreground?
