Hi Guys

Here's my next modelling adventure, this one is to be for a gift for someone at work and she says she wants a red and black version.

This is what she would like it to look like but that means scratch building a swing arm and modifying the fairings and I dont want to mess it up so it will be box with the same ish colour scheme

Work so far, drilled out and painted the discs

Tamiya R1 my version #2 Img_0211

Painted the fairings in Rover Nightfire red from Halfords, its a really nice colour and will hopefully look great with the satin black frame, swing arm and soon to be matt black lower fairings. fingers crossed!!!! cam cover has also been painted in the same colour.

Frame and chain and exhaust, more detailing on the chain and exhaust needs finishing

More to come in the next few days

I dont care what you do to It Ash .. Its an R1 and they look good anytime ..... you could cover one in bin liners and it'd still look fast as doodah and hard as nails lol

Have at it mate, looking really nice so far.

Thanks guys :)

Pete the Tamiya bikes are excellent but like everything else you can go as far as you like with the extras, based on your truck, that's a long long way

Straight from the can, this shot was before the clear so that will dull it a little until I polish it.

I find spray cans really easy to use and generally always get this finish from them. That's had 2 coats of primer then 3 coats of colour and not sanded between.

The detail in these motorcycle kits is nice. You have done a great job of bringing it out. popcorn

Your not late Andy, I only started this 2 days ago and I was on a training day yesterday so I didn't do anything, this is basically a 3 day build if I manage to get it finished tomorrow :)
