Looks great John ! So what color are you going with ?

Sam:  It's going to be a nail polish called Nuclear a Energy.  The color is much like Purplicious.

Basically all you need to do to channel it is make the bottom edge of the body flush with the bottom of the frame. It drops the body on the frame so you would need to raise the floor of the car.

But now that I see some mock up pictures I think a full channel wont work or look right. If the top of the tire passes where the top of the fender would be it would look goofy IMO.

Example of too much channel IMO.

Just right. Tire does not go above the top fender line.
http://www.history-of-cars.com/images/ford-usa/1932-3-window-coupe-hot-rod-34.jpg

It is all personal taste.

Brent: thanks for the photo links. They helped me make my final decision not to channel this car. I just don't want yo do any more cutting on this body.

I agree with Brent on the curve of the fender line on the body.  It IS a matter of taste and in my case the ultra low channeling is the fashion now, but bad design and look.  Good luck, have fun and don't be too hard on yourself.  These are models and built for fun!

I totally understand John. Will be many more builds to come when you can try it. The sectioning you did looks fantastic! If you can pull that off so well channeling will be a cinch for you when you do decide to try it.

Unfortunately I had a minor disaster this morning. While fitting the interior I caused a split along one of the cuts I made when sectioning the body. It is repairable, in fact it is already back together. I am going to have to let it set for a couple of days though to make sure the repair cures.

Kind of stalled out on this when I started the 41 Woody.  I'm going to try to get this one going in the next couple of weeks.  This coming week will be taken up with getting ready for GSL though.

Bruce: The Woody is waiting for the surfboards so I'll get going on the 32 again tomorrow.

Back on the Sedan.  Here is what will probably be the final stance.

1932 Ford Sedan High Boy - Page 2 00129

I partially channeled the body so that the body sits on the frame at an angle.

1932 Ford Sedan High Boy - Page 2 00331

I sectioned the radiator shell, but I think it is still a bit too tall.  Unless my basic laziness takes over I will probably have to shorten it a bit more.  I also had to shorten the firewall and widen the opening to allow the engine  to fit properly

1932 Ford Sedan High Boy - Page 2 00425

Overall I'm pleased with the stance and this is probably where it will stay. BTW, the dark lines on the body are just that, dark color in the primer. Actually the body is smooth as a babies butt. 1932 Ford Sedan High Boy - Page 2 1705482731

There is no sense at all in a hot rod unless it has an aggressive attitude. This baby fits the bill,John !

It is a very cool stance. Those ghost lines can be a bear. What really sucks is when the final color goes on and they are still there. Been down that road more than once.

Perfect stance John and I agree...... the rad shell needs to be shorter. 1932 Ford Sedan High Boy - Page 2 1705482731

I think I'll apply a coat of silver before doing anything else.  Hopefully that will take care of  the ghost lines.  I hope!! 1932 Ford Sedan High Boy - Page 2 3887228019

You did an awesome job sectioning and chopping the body John. Like everyone said the stance is fabulous and I like the engine you have in there too.

Here is the final color.  When finished the rear windows will be smoked and the interior will be a simulated leather.

This is the last update for about six weeks. Seems that real life is going to interfere with modeling. See you in late July or early August.
