PostSubject: Weekend build. Any scale, any subject.   Sun 01 Feb 2015, 7:30 pm

Just got this one finished.

Hornby 1/32

It's a nice little snappie kit which is VERY badly let down with rubbish decals.

They were difficult to get off the backing paper, 'grabbed' the body far too quick (making positioning very difficult), some of the carrier film was far to big and although VERY shiney on the backing paper, were somewhat dull when applied and dried.

Even Microsol couldn't sort them out!!

Al:  Turned out nice, for what it is.  Too bad about the stickers though.  EXCELLENT choice of color!

Don't be so critical, Al. It looks great for a weekend build.

Nice quick work.

Mike... I have a wealth of experience with decals and I know rubbish ones when I get 'em. I wasn't actually being critical of myself but rather with Hornby. Particularly as the Mustang ones were so good.

Here's my finished Citroen 11CV.  Only my second model in 1/43 scale.  A pretty decent model by Heller although the rally decals could have done without the Heller sponsorship. LOL

Great work everyone - I hope you all had fun, I did.

Very cool! Luv the side-by-side 'Maro and 'Stang. The lack of detail on the 1/32 scale is overcome with good paint. The "Traction Avant (?)" looks great with the light color wheels too. In sum, an excellent idea. Maybe next time we'll have more participants. This was G-O-O-O-D!

Really nice job on both. That Citroen would make a cool Hot Rod.

Great jobs Al and Mike. Funny that you talk up the Mustang decals Al, as I remember you complaining about them at the time...

I'm about read to get started with my build.

Actually what I said Dave was, I had a problem with the stripe decals. What I neglected to say was, the problem was of my own making. Sorry. LOL The rest of them laid down well.
