Red paint ove red & black plastic
Any colour recomendations for a base coat here? I have red & black plastic to cover with one colour (red).
To get colour match I need to get a primer coat on that will give a consistant colour over both the red water tank & black mudguards.
Your thoughts?
Cheers,
Chris

As long as the primer is even then any will do really.
It all depends what you want the red to do, if it's a dark red (or you want it subtle) Then red oxide type.
A grey primer will basically give the colour indicated on the lid as it's quite a neutral base.
White primer will give the red a brighter look.
If you want the red to really pop then it's white primer, then a coat of yellow before laying down the red.

Spray it with a coat of aluminum to prevent any chance of bleed-thru.

Thanks gents, I'll try the silver/aluminium idea, me thinks. I've got some caustic brewing if it goes belly up.

Then dark primer and your colour if its a dark one.
