USS Blue Ridge
The Pitroad kit USS Blue Ridge. It is 1/700 scale, built from the box with no extras. I have also included pictures of the USS New York which I built at the same time. Not many parts for New York, it was a quicky so no progress pictures. Both were painted using Tamiya acrylics and then AK Interactive weathering oils. Thanks for looking

I know what you mean. I would love to use candy apple red on something one day but it very rarely happens on warships LOL.

I know that a lot of these old ships are decommissioned as sunken reefs, but do any of them ever get turned into anything "civilian" ? If so, paint yours candy apple red !!

Yeah, I'm trying to build different looking ships to try and vary what I have in my cabinet. My next job will be a very different looking boat. I'm posting pictures now.......

Re: USS Blue Ridge
Nice job on both.
As said above you can't really do anything different with the paint to what was produced in reality.
Maybe we should have a "pimp my ship" build.

Re: USS Blue Ridge
It's hard to get used to this new age of warships. The importance of the Blue Ridge isn't in it's firepower, but as flagship of the fleet, it is the command center specializing in computer and communication systems.
Great job with it, Chris.

Nice work, Chris. What I notice is there isn't much detail in the ship. It looks like everything is gray.
