Geezer update. Empty Geezer update.

Post by Geezerman Sun 09 Nov 2014, 12:42 am

Home today at 7:00.
Geezer update. 3871844300 Had been feeling poorly lately. Feeling like a cold coming on, turned to very flemy bronchial condition and turning into difficult breathing up to last weekend. Monday and Tuesday I started feeling very tight int the chest and gasping for breath at the slightest exertion.
After voting Tuesday I told Shazz that I ought to go to a clinic or something We decided to stop at the local Hospital about a mile from home' Turns out that I have a heart condition and they said I had had a stroke.
Anyway, heart weak - operating at 15%. Massive fluid in the lings causing heart to overwork. They put in a stint at at bad point and said I had two more sections that were'nt bad enough to mess with.
Heart up to 20%.now. Trying to strengthen heart up for a few months with monitoring and medication. hoping to get it strong enough that major surgery won't be a necessity.
Fitted me with a defibulating life vest that I will have to wear 23-7.  It'll deliver me a massive shock if I flat line and pass out.
I have dubbed it Achmed.
I'll be back around in a couple of days

Sorry about your health issues Clay. My Mother in Law (89) had a similar problem back in March and while it looked horrible for her, but as her heart started working better after the stint, and the diuretic reduced the fluids, her recovery was amazing. She is actually doing better than she was months before the procedure.

Don't know what to say for sure but take your time and don't try to hurry your recovery, I know it might be rough not being able to do much but relax and do what the Doc orders. That's what I'm going through with my legs, got one blocked vein in my right leg and a 1/2 blocked one in my left so it hurts just to walk and some times sit working on a model and the meds I'm on make me feel dopey (more than normal anyway ) but ya gotta do what ya gotta do Relax and get well soon Clay Geezer update. 3887228019

I am no doctor but sounds like pneumonia to me. Excess lung fluid puts stress on the heart. Listen to the doc. and take it easy. Get well soon.
Cheers Eh!

I was stunned when I read this. Take care of yourself, follow the doctors orders and let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Get well quick, Clay. I've already had 2 friends get stints and after following doctor's orders and watching diets they're both looking better than ever. They are good at this these days.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Clay. A mate's Dad had a stents put in at 85. Gave him a new lease of life he reckons.

Wow Clay, sorry to hear of your problems ....and welcome to the 'dodgy ticker' club.

I was diagnosed with a heart condition over 5 years ago, and I'm on the list for a by-pass op.
I take 7 tablets daily plus do at least an hours fitness routine a day to keep my heart strong, and blow out the cobwebs.
It's funny because I've never smoked, don't drink, don't eat fried food and exercise regularly ?

Good luck Clay...scary, I know, but the meds really work !
