I'm familiar with the nose of both versions John, it's the model that is confusing me.

If you had to cut off the glass nose on the model, in order to fit the optional non glass nose, then surely the fuselage is made of clear styrene!!

Obviously not but I'm still confused!

I applied the dark green paint and it's now the moment of truth;

Came out not to bad methinks. Needs the odd touch up but overall I'm pleased enough with it. Next it needs clear gloss then decals.

Not looking forward to painting the metal portions of the canopy though!!

Al, what I should have said was CUT OFF THE SECTION ON THE NOSE THAT STICKS OUT WHERE THE GLASS FITS ON THE FRONT SECTION

Hope this helps

All looking good so far here, like the camo Al..... Good job mate.

That canopy, just scratch the raised bits with a scalpel and lob some paint on it, then rub the excess off with a cocktail stick.... Acrylic is best obviously.

I'll be in when I've finished the sopwith.

decided to do this gear up and on a stand. always thought the Me110 was quite a graceful looking plane, wheels and gear kind of ruin the lines lol

Decals on and Dullcote applied. Just the props, gun, exhausts and canopy to do and it's finished.

A crisp, clean looking paint job, Al. Comparing it to Paul's Me110, that must have been massive.

On to the next one:

You've recently seen this one built by Colin and as I'm not doing anything to it, won't bore you with much of a WIP.

Suffice to say, I'm keeping the paint simple and going for another winter camo paint job.

Here are the sprues:

As Colin pointed out, in his build of this kit, the wheels detail (or total lack of) leaves a great deal to be desired.

Colin took a novel appoach to his but I chose to go a different route, by giving it skis instead!!

I made a raggedy old 'tarp' to cover over the horrendous  gunners area.

Looking at photos of the real deal, I have absolutely no evidence that this was ever the case. However, anything is better than the kit offering methinks.

It's made from a tiny scrap of single ply nasal tissue, held in place  and coated in CA. Snd yes, I know there is a scratch to clean up. LOL

The stand is 'just a gnat's whisker' to big for such a small model (guess they use the same stand for larger scales too).............

......... but it does make a great paint stand.

They say 'Into every life a little rain must fall'............. well I think I just had a thunderstorm!!

Obviously didn't wait until the paint was properly dry!! Nor was the clear sealing the masking tape properly!!

Oh boy!! Joy of joys. here comes the brake fluid bath.

If the skis come off, I'd go with ones a bit longer, at least that's what I saw with some post WWII single engine kits with them included. Sorry about the paint, but on any model something usually goes a bit wrong. "The best laid plans..." as the saying begins.

Ok i'm on it .....

Gave the little model a nice rubbing over with a fibreglass pen, perfect for giving it a key for the paint, just a cross mesh pattern suffices.

Got the drilling for the rigging mostly done today, now i'm going to rest my eyes in some soapy water for a bit.

Just realised that i may have done all that drilling for nothing as the wires seem to be attached in strange places on this aircraft.

Any way got the undersides, wing braces and sundries painted.

Top side has had a tri-colour camo pattern added, it's a bit "what if" as the real things a bit ... boring really.

Found an ideal size "tippet" line for the riggin .... (brilliant stuff for fly fishing too as it happens lol)
