Of mice and things.....
............. I haven't used the Jimnny for some time and I'd forgotten all about two sacks of horse feed I had in the back.
This is what I found yesterday morning, AFTER removing the sacks and shoveling up most of the debris.!!!
The mice had gnawed their way in via the rubber gator on the low ratio transfer lever!!
I had to remove all of the seats and the carpet liner to do a proper job of cleaning. Two days work and she's scrubbed up pretty decent again. Anyone got any moldy cheese.?? LOL

They can make a mess but they didn't get the seats or the under dash wiring which is a good thing

Good Grief! Looks like an operation planned and executed by the Lee Marvin of the mouse world. You get a dozen mice and dress them up like Germans.....just like the movie 'The Dirty Dozen' LOL

Re: Of mice and things.....
They are real fun cars to drive Ron but I wouldn't want to make along trip in one. Great fun off road though.

I agree they could have dined on the wiring. Sure did clean up nice.

Re: Of mice and things.....
Glad that you were able to clean all! A friend of mine had one Jimny, pretty fun car to drive in narrow mountain roads. Although I still prefer the early '80 model (LJ80) the first gear had a perfect ratio in offoroad. Better than the Samurai.

Re: Of mice and things.....
The LJ80 certainly has better 'off road' looks than the Jimny Briz and IIRC, wasn't the Samuri prone to rollovers?

Re: Of mice and things.....
I never heard about the Samurai rollovers, and where I grew up there was a lot of Samurai, because a lot of people had a cabin in the mountain, and the roads (ex mule roads) in some point were too narrow for a different 4x4. A family friend had a '82 with hard top, I used to drive it when he was cutting small logs (30cm in diameter) in is property, some incredible wheely! :D

Re: Of mice and things.....
I knew there was bad press about the Samurai, watched it on Top gear.
However, it seems to have been a vendeta against Suzuki on behalf of the American Consumer Union to it's own financial gain.
Be sure to watch both parts.

Re: Of mice and things.....
When I bought my Suzuki from the dealers, they made particular note that being a 4x4 it drove differently
than a normal car, and I was made aware of the chance it could roll if not driven correctly.
So the day after I bought wider wheels that increased the track by 100mm.
...but they didn't help the ride comfort.

Re: Of mice and things.....
Like the elk test, there was a European car magazine that make fail the Grand Cherokee, saying that it was possible roll over in it during the elk test. What they found out is that they trick the cpu in the Jeep for make it happen.
Think also that the Ford MUTT, 151 A1 had the roll over issue in certain circumstance. That was a suspension design issue, corrected in the A2.
I heard that also have full time the 4 wheel drive can cause rollover (I'm talking about old 4x4 pre ABS and other control system), like if you take a turn too fast, the rear are pushing and the front turning can make a possible discomfort, that in the worse case could end in a rollover. I experienced that weird thing with a Land Rover Discovery 1 series, and you need to countersteer very quick. But if you drive normally, not issue at all. Honestly I prefer part time 4x4 vehicle, to me is more normal have the rear traction, more fun. :D One time we rollover on a trial race with a Land Rover Defender, not a speed but we were on a hill, a rock made lift a front wheel and... roll... We stopped upside down. Remember if this happen and you stop upside down, before remove the seat belts, put a hand on the roof! :D

Destructive (and hungry) little buggers aren't they ? haha
I like that Jimmy. The Jimmy here in the US are nothing more than a really small Chevy pickup. THat's looks very jeep'ish. I'd love to buzz around in one of those !

Jeff, they are great fun.
60mph is about as fast as is comfortable on the road, but they are terrific off road and go anywhere a Landrover can get too.

Re: Of mice and things.....
They use the little Suzuki up here a lot, just stick some oversize wheels and tyres on them and you're away. makes no difference to the ride quality as the Scottish town/city roads are pants anyway.
they only do 60?!?!...... Scotland is " speed camera" happy so that doesn't matter.
