1932 Ford Victoria
I started this last week before leaving for California.
For an old AMT kit that has been bouncing around for years it seems to go together pretty well without any warping issues so far.
One issue is that of ejection pin marks. There are several large ones on major pieces that had to be filled.
It's my intention to build this as a hot rod very similar to the box art. I am going to see if I can manage to fit it with a 427 though. As always, comments, suggestions, criticism and friendly ridicule welcome.

I have always liked that body style and think they make great looking hot rods. Just go for, I'll bet it turns out to be a sweet ride.

A 427 SOHC would be very cool and more power than you would ever need, well may be to out run the cops for what ever reason that would be

I have built that kit a few times over the years. The chassis is pretty basic but its a nice kit overall.

I love the Vicky and it's on my 'to get' list.
But what's this, a hot rod from Mr CHP???

Re: 1932 Ford Victoria
Hey guys........While there certainly is no shame in being called "Mr. CHP", keep in mind I have built some hot rods and lakesters in the past. I'll post a couple of photos later today to support my claim. The interest in me building a hot rod has increased my interest though. The Vicky has definitely come up in my priorities. Got to get it done so I can get back to CHP cars.
BTW, It's looking like the 427 will not be a comfortable fit so I have decided to go with the OHV kit engine.

The blue T I built when it first came out and it's always been a fave. Has it got radiator hoses??! I'll have to dig mine out to see if mine has 'em!

Ron: I was a real softy when it came to hot rods. More than once I pulled one over for something and ended up at a coffee stop with the owner talking cars. Made a couple of lasting friends in the process. In fact one of them became a CHP officer.

Damn!!! The lower is still there, but it looks like the carpet monster got the upper at some time. Got to put a new one in place. Thanks for noticing.

It's been a long time since I was pulled by the police John,
but years back I was often stopped because of my modified cars,
just so they could get a closer look
- then sent on my way, usually with "and get that exhaust fixed" !

The Plum Crazy looks just like it did on Skype John and the fabric on the roof looks good too.

Re: 1932 Ford Victoria
Made some progress on the chassis and the engine over the past day or so. I didn't care for the kit wheels and tires, particularly the tires. For that reason I substituted wheels and tires out of my parts box: I believe they are out of the 1934 Revell Ford Coupe kit. The wheels fit well, but the wheel back had to be modified which added to the time involved. I had originally thought of substituting a 427 for the kit engine, but the installation would require extensive modification to both the chassis and the engine. I just was not willing to invest the time or effort.
Anyway, here is the latest.
Next is the interior, exhaust and the detail parts. Thanks for the support you guys give.

Good call on the wheels John. I like the baby Moons. How about doing the wheel centres to match the body colour?

Yep. I'd go along with that too.

Re: 1932 Ford Victoria
Well, ok !
I'm not a fan of GAUDY. This body/fender combo is pretty gaudy.
I know. Hot rod and stuff.
Personally IMHO, this 'lil Vicky is such a neat body style, it deserves some respect.
Painting the center of the hubcaps will throw it over the edge of tackiness.
Saying that, it's your model and I respect that.
I can't help it. I'm an incurable old curmudgeon !
