my 'works in progress' Empty my 'works in progress'

Post by Guest Tue 04 Feb 2014, 1:15 pm

I haven't uploaded much of my work lately, as most are still in the build up stage.
Many could be completed in just one leisurely weekend - but other things get in the way.
...here just are a few close to hand....

...and this Duster will be a replica of one that I owned...

my 'works in progress' Fa88d606-64e5-4d1e-b156-09daee397fc8_zpsf356a4d8

with dozens more to finish, I don't really need to buy any more for quite some time (sorry Al!)

Integrale? no Andy, but I can see the resemblance. Actually 'tis a humble Mk2 Golf.

Most of my 60+ stash are in states of build and near completion.
I often wonder if I have a mental issue to finishing my models - but I do finish them, eventually,
and I have given myself a self imposed ban on buying new models until I get some done.

That's a great collection of classics in progress. Looks like a bunch of fine work there.

You could finish the lot of them by creating a giant garage diorama of a restoration shop! LOL

WOW, I would never have thought it was a Golf, even now it still looks more Delta than Golf...

Now that sound's like a great idea, you could add mechanic figures working on some cars and when you finish one you could have civvie figures collecting their vehicles...

I could make a Breakers Yard with very little effort.

I prefer the build rather than painting to be honest.
Builds stall for numerous reasons: poorly fitting parts, bad paint, wrong choice of colour,
glue disasters or simply waiting for a different set of wheels, wiring of engine or detail work,
- it happens to us all - most of us.

But watch this space.....I promise I'll have a couple finished by the weekend.

The silver Golf looks like a later one, with the rectangular headlights. Nice wider wheel openings too! All your body paint jobs are fabulous. I luv the 2-tone interiors also. Not many of us take the time to do fancy interiors these days. Thanx! What you could do is start and finish a garage floor display and never finish the models. It could be a "work in progress" diorama.

Ron: unfinished kits have become a problem with me too. Got to get with it and finish something. Having said that, I'm really interested in the tank truck you have there. Can you let me know who makes the kit? Thanks.

Hello John,
the Bedford Tanker is sold as an EMHAR and from a company in the UK under the name of Pocketbond Ltd.
There are variations in bodywork with long and short wheelbase models.
It's nice for us Brits to have models of UK made vehicles for a change.
..I'm planning a finish of my tanker in a few days, if all goes well.

Many thanks...

HB Viva? ....wait until 3D printers get up and running properly and anything's possible.

My son is an Engineer with his own business and is planning to pay out £15k to buy one
(it's tax deductible) to produce examples of complicated valves to show customers.

...so you never know what it could be used for ???

...It'll be in the completed models section next weekend,
that's another promise I intend to keep
as it seems the only way I get things done.

Fine job! I really like that you took the time to do excellent work on the interior, and I like the little decals on the windows!

You've been a busy beaver Ron.

Great looking engine and I like the choice of colour.

Thanks - the wet and windy weather is partly responsible,
and with nothing much on TV tonight, I got further on with the Oldsmobile

That is a great looking model. Super nice really. The foil work is great, as is the stance.
