Got the body mod's figured out   Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 524092055   Cut the body and added .040 strip, still not enough so I added another .060 strip and this is where it's at

Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 PICT0688_zps1aab1cf0

that's close and I like the look a lot better plus the stance is right also

Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 PICT0687_zps55b8ce80

this is without the roll cage in, with the roll cage in the body is up just a little bit but I'm going to lower the cage to correct that. If it isn't one thing it's another but I got the body ready to redo and go from their   Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 3887228019

Good work John.

It's the old three steps forward and two steps back syndrome at work. Keep at it.

I hate it when things like that happen. Looks like you have it well under control. Gonna be a beauty when done.

If anybody is going to built one of these kits here is a must do mod, it's easy but makes a big difference.

On the inside front of the body their are 2 guide pin where the front panel goes on, remove them and sand that area flat ( just the pins not the stop on the middle front ) so the front panel will go back all the way on the right side.

Right side with the pin still their

Right side with the pins removed

Just about got the body ready for a primer coat, again.
Thought you might like to know about this mod for the body  Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 3887228019

Hi John,

I thought I had commented on this earlier, so sorry Sir...

It's a shame that you have had to strip the body, it looked great, will you be painting it the same colour again...

Andy...

Hi gang, well it's been a year so I think the white paint is dry Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 396455068 Had a chance to mask and paint the blue, 2 clear coats, decals on which fit better with the body extended and final clear coat so here is what she looks like

Isn't that always the trick when we put a build on hold like that.  What you remembered worked out beautifully!

After searching in a bunch of funny car boxes I found most of it, chassis, engine, int and body tin. Had to do some repair work on the engine and the int. like the cogged blower belt came loose on the bottom  pulley, wired the eng by removing the dist. and adding the pre-wired dist. cap and in doing so I lost the idler pulley for the blower belt but I got it all back together and installed the headers. The roll cage came off  so I put that back on, installed the engine and the int. in the chassis so here is where I'm at as of now

Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 PICT0076_zpssipu9r9b

Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 PICT0074_zpsk3dbfbzs

and one with the body sitting on the chassis

Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 PICT0077_zpskiiuyanf

Now I need to find the glass and some other parts ( I do have a couple more kits like this one so no biggie on finding the parts ) and hopefully have this finished by the end of the week or week end.

Thanks for all the kind comments and for following along. Tommy Grove Mustang F/C - Page 2 3887228019
