Greetings from the land of stalled builds.
Revell's Chev van. This one was started on Buck's forum, and delayed by a paint disaster. So it went onto the back burner before it went under my foot.
Was going to be white. Red got the nod instead. I've ribbed the floor- none too well, but I'm after the spirit not 100% rivet counting.
And you'll see little of it anyway.
My story behind it is that its fresh of the showroom floor. The bubble windows, acres of shag pile carpet, TV, bed, etc would come later!
Opened the bonnet up, so that meant building a heater box, booster & M/cylinder from scratch. Ditto the radiator support.
Added a battery & screen washer too .Wired the engine- why I don't know, since I did that before I realized the bonnet was fixed.
So I had to open the bonnet.
And at least the '70s brown goes with red. It was going to have to. Wasn't redoing the interior.

Good call on the ribbing Chris.
How are you going to do the bubble windows?

Re: Greetings from the land of stalled builds.
No bubble windows- my take is that the van is fresh off the showroom floor, and is about to be customized.
Equally it could be a company van. That was the reason for the original white paint job.
Cheers,
Chris

How cool! I always feel a van can be ANYTHING. Tow vehicle, company vehicle, custom, whatever. I admire the determination to show the engine compartment. Back when I was buying and building somewhat, I bought a couple later Ford vans with the more extended hoods, for just that purpose. Thanx soooo much for a nice van. Maybe someday I'll get back to them!

What you've got there looks good, Chris. Keep on it.
Putting projects on the back burner is a harsh description - I like to think of it as prioritizing.
I have dozens of projects suffering due to prioritization of new projects. LOL

Re: Greetings from the land of stalled builds.
Update. Still got the bonnet to paint, run some wash down the shut lines & polish the excess off.
Also need to paint the underside black to hide all the white.
Front coils are solder and I added the "washers & bolts" on the lower control armsm using a thin
sprue disc & a bit of heat stretched sprue. Hex rod would work better, but what the hell, I'm a cheapskate.
Other mods include the under bonnet detailing & a pair of interior sunvisors.
Don't worry about the camber on the rear wheel. I ended up using non original wheel retainers. I'll glue them solid methinks.
And here's the underside.

Nice one Chris, your story reminded me of the old Holden Sandman wagons from the 70s.

Hi Mr W,
Sweet, I like the solder idea for springs...

Good tips there Chris - I've got a LWB version in my stash somewhere.
