Airfield Defense Vehicle
First one finished for 2014. '65 Chev pickup chassis. Scratch build body. MG is a converted spear gun, mount is scratch. Commanders hatch is the base of cosmetic pot.
Windows are clear sheet, black on the inside. Wheels are 1/35 Italeri Puma armoured car, they work well enough. Jack is WW2 german armour and the rest is parts box.
A big thanks to Al for the headlight lenses!

Hi Brizio,
It's not based on a specific vehicle, more "inspired by' that type of vehicle. Not meant for combat, more security duties on taxiways, ramps & perimeter tracks.
I've seen the odd one on a Dodge chassis on USAF bases. ( Back in the days when you could get onto bases with photo ID & car insurance!)
2 wheel drive, and and armoured to defeat 7.62 rounds.
Thanks for asking,
Chris

Re: Airfield Defense Vehicle
I think you did a cracking job of scratch building this one Chris. It looks just right for an armoured security vehicle. Very well one.
I'm glad the lenses worked for you.

Great job Chris. These kind of projects are fun and a great way to relax, no rivets to count.
