'55 Belair by Revell
As I mentioned in the "1950 Olds" thread, the muse is indeed upon me. This is another stalled build that has been dragged out into the harsh light of day.
OTB build, wired the dizzy, choke heat riser. Fuel line to come. Interior is going to be light & dark blue.
Close up of the engine & I must trim the bits of black tyres that are showing up against the whitewalls.

- still a long way to go - but an iconic Chevy.
How did they build so many? and how do they survive?
I need to get my many stalled kits built too.

That's a good looking engine Chris. Keep at it.

I don't know just how many survive, but it's a bunch. Restored they sell for big, big prices. Back in 1956 I bought a 1955 BelAir. Can't remember what I paid for it, but it was less than $2000. Traded it in 1959 for a 1957 BelAir; got $500 or $600 for it. Oh for prices like that. Those two cars rank in my personal top three cars I have owned. The other is a 1966 Mustang fastback.

And there's a thriving aftermarket for them in NOS & reproduction parts too. You'd go close to building one from brand new parts
