That's cool. Craig from this forum also built a tiny military motorcycle and jeep that he brought to a contest recently. Very neat little kits. nice job on them,...they are so small.

Oh, I remember this scale well.
I built a model Railway layout for Darlington Railway Museum entitled 'Somewhere in Europe 1945' built on 16ft x 3ft base in the early 80's.
It had bombed buildings, armoured trains and a host of Military vehicles and troops using Airfix, Matchbox and Minitank vehicles and figures.
It was later sold (by the Museum) because they thought depicting wartime events wasn't PC and in the interest to the public ???
I know for sure, my eyesight couldn't cope with that now....... How's yours Al ??

I don't think my eyes would thank me these days, although I do still have a 1/76 MK fuel tanker to build, I managed to build the standard MK and that was bad enough...

Since I'm going to make my own diorama base for this, I decided to re-post it here.

The kit comes with a plasic base but I don't care much for it:

I'll be combining it with this kit:

The caravan and the armoured car were both painted with Tamiya desert yellow. I then did some post paint shading and finaly brushed on some AK interactive Africa Dust. The rear sun canopy and canvas roofs to the caravan and cab, were covered in a single layer of nasal tissue before painting, for a more realistic texture.

No Buck, this is Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery. (aka Monty or The Spartan general) The British soldier who master minded victory in the North African Desert Campaign, against Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, (aka The Desert Fox) during 1942 in WWII, including his famous victory at El Alamein.

He was allocated a truck for his personal mobile quarters, then he had an Italian caravan put on the back of it and it became know as 'Monty's Caravan'

The North African Capaign was most famous for it's tank battles.
