The body on the real Comet was one of the first fiberglass bodies offered here in the US ........... there were four fiberglass '66 Comets built in the Logghe Brothers shop (with backing from Ford Motor Company) .......... one went to Jack Chrisman, one to Don Nicholson, one to Eddie Shartman, and the last to Kenz & Leslie ........... they were indeed the predecessors to the full fiberglass bodies that came along in the late '60's 001Johnag wrote:

Dyno Don Nicholson ruled the strip much of the year. The one piece body was a natural evolution from separate fiberglass front fenders and hood. Great job on the least remembered of the 4 Mercs of that year. Shartman's "Air Lift Rattler" was another dark horse however. Chrisman and Nicholson were the stars then. Thanx for great memories!!
