It looks great, the detail of the cast is very nice indeed .... is there much room for extra detailing??

One thing .... the No 11 car is Sir Jackies' from the 1967 German GP, the No 14 car (box art) is from Belgium '67 ...

Yes i know i'm pedantic ... don't hate me for it !! BRM P83 Model Factory Hiro - Page 3 3188091063

Sam....no throttle linkage

Colin....I'll be doing the 67 Belgium car.....the pic is the only one I had at the time. There is some room for extra detailing, but I'm just trying to finish it OOB since it's my first white metal kit.

I got the fuel lines onto the injector pumps.

Pump on the engine.  There is one on each side.

Pulley and belt installed. I started to run the lines, but had to stop after a couple to rest my eyes......and find some tiny tweezers for the rest.

I got the dash finished and installed

Just got caught up with your build. You're doing fine work. Are there any drawbacks to MFH kits? I have considered getting one for years.

Cole....the only drawback I can see is the price.   But considering the detail and all of the extra multi-media stuff you get, it actually is an OK deal.   I've talked to people who do resin casting and who make kits for sale, and they say that Mr Hiro probably just breaks even on the kits.

The kits are mostly white metal, so CA or epoxy is needed for glues.  Also, all of the holes need to be drilled by the builder.  There are indents were the holes are needed, so it's not guesswork for those.   The white metal is soft, so care is needed on thin or small parts because to much bending can break the parts. (personal experience talking)

Most MFH kits are of subjects that can't be found elsewhere or in that scale.

Truth be told, I've gotten addicted to them.  I just recieved another today!

Paul, even though I have not stated my MFH Gurney Eagle, I have to agree with everything you have said about it after looking inside the box. They are fabulously detailed. I can likely agree that the company might only break even on them, even at the high price. Truly an OOB build that looks wonderful.

I am really anxious to start on mine. What other one did you purchase?

You're doing a fantastic job of this engine with all the intricate work you're putting into it Paul. Top notch! I bet you're itching to get started on the bike.

Thanks Denis.   I've been playing around with it already.  MFH kits come in bags of parts....it's up to you to go through them and sort them out.  I like to get them into bags of the respective steps to make sure everything is there.

I spent last nites build session finishing the injector hoses.  Then I mated the engine and then the trans/rear suspension to the car.

I have a couple of plastic containers with dividers and sort my parts that way.  It comes in pretty handy and it's portable.

It sure is looking good and mean with that monster of an engine and the wheels to carry it.  Safe to say you're back in the groove of things?

Thanks guys...this has been a fun learning experience.  White metal isn't as hard as you would first think.

Shelby wrote:Safe to say you're back in the groove of things?

I hope I am Denis.

I got quite a bit done tonite.  The mesh for the intake trumpets was an area I was nervous about, but it was actually quite easy.
