1/72 Messershmitt Bf110E-2 Tropical
I've been on something of a kit starting binge recently, for one reason or another and when I saw a Bf109 build being started by a friend I remembered this kit, which I started earlier in the year, but postponed doing any real work on it for reasons I do not recall. So, here it is, back again.
The kit in question:
My progress up to the point of resuming building yesterday:
A great deal of progress was made yesterday afternoon, not all of it strictly necessary.....
A dozen clothes pegs had to sacrifice their daily duties to fasten the upper sections of the wings on. This may seem like overkill, but the evenness of the join justifies this:
Assembly done, ready for painting. The fit of the components is very nice, especially the large canopy. The only downside is that the panel lines are not especially sharp.
Front view, not really in focus. I intend to find the pin vice and drill out the machine gun barrels sooner or later.
This is where the irrelevancy begins. With my new found pursuit of following the instructions sequentially and with little attention, before I realised what I was doing, I had the landing gear assembled.....
This will make life harder when it comes to the painting stage soon. Nevertheless, it's nothing that copious quantities of Blu-tack cannot solve.
That's it for now, I have things to be getting on with, including spending quite some while masking that canopy and as you may have noticed, I have not yet replaced the panel lines that suffered during sanding. Updates will be as and when they happen. Thanks for looking.

Not sure on the color for German pilot uniform, but otherwise it's coming along fine. Yes, sometimes assembly before painting is a bummer and masking skills are tested. I hope you come up with a cool camouflage paint scheme.
